Home Cooking

Pearsons Home Cooking Skills 

Qualification:  EDEXCEL BTEC Home cooking skills Level 1 and Level 2 (QCF) 

Exam board: Pearson 

The Pearson BTEC Level 1 and Level 2 Awards in Home Cooking Skills are suitable for learners to develop:  

  • knowledge, understanding and confidence to cook meals at home 
  • an understanding of how to economise when planning a meal 
  • an ability to transfer skills learned to different recipes 
  • an ability to inspire others by transferring that knowledge 

To pass this unit, students need to demonstrate that they can meet all the learning outcomes for the unit. The assessment criteria determine the standard required to achieve the unit. All units are centre- devised assessments. 

Assessment: There are two assessment components.  

Component one: Portfolio of evidence 
Component two: Practical assignment   

BTEC specialist qualifications may also enhance learners’ self-development by providing them with valuable life skills.
