The WJEC Level 1/2 Award in Retail Business offers a learning experience that focuses learning for 14-16-year olds through applied learning, i.e. acquiring and applying knowledge, skills and understanding through purposeful tasks set in the retail sector.

The WJEC Level 1/2 Award in Retail Business has been designed to develop in learners the skills needed for progression from Key Stage 4 and GCSE learning to further education, employment and training.

What will I study?

Unit 1 – The Business of Retail - The purpose of the unit is to introduce learners to the competitive and dynamic nature of retail industry. [Externally Assessed]

Unit 2 – Customer Service for Retail Businesses. The purpose of this unit is to introduce learners to the importance of customer service to retail organisations. [Internally Assessed]

Unit 3 – Merchandising and Marketing a Retail Product - The purpose of this unit is to introduce learners to the importance of visual merchandising and marketing. [Internally Assessed]

What skills will I develop?

By studying Level 1/2 Award in Retail Business, the applied purpose enables learners to learn in such a way that they develop:
