Best GCSE results ever for the second year running.

Posted: 22nd August 2019

Royal Docks Academy is celebrating its best GCSE results ever – for the second year running.

At the school it was celebrations all round as the results revealed another step towards the mission of becoming an Outstanding facility by 2020.

More than half of students achieved the national standard of a grade 4 pass in English and maths, up from 52 per cent last year. The result is the highest the school has achieved in its history.

Executive head John Blaney said: “We are delighted that yet again since joining BMAT, the school continues on an upward trend.

“This is due to the hard work of our staff, who go above and beyond and give up their time to support our young people, and the hard work of our students.

“Since joining BMAT, the school has undergone many changes, including a radical overhaul of our curriculum. Hopefully, these results justify those changes. Our high expectations for our students are already reaping great results.

“We are feeling very proud.”
